Il corso introduce all’uso di alcuni programmi per l’analisi quantitativa di un progetto urbano o architettonico. Gli studenti impareranno l´uso di DepthMap (© UCL) per la visualizzazione e quantificazione dei punti meglio integrati nel tessuto urbano, SimWalk (© Savannah Simulations AG) per la simulazione dei movimenti pedonali e Metronamica (© RIKS) per simulazioni di sviluppo urbano. I dati prodotti saranno poi analizzati in Excel usando concetti di statistica descrittiva spiegati a lezione. Di ogni programma si apprenderanno sia i fondamenti teorici sia l’uso pratico, evidenziando in particolare il concetto di analisi critico-scientifica di un progetto urbano o architettonico.
The course introduces the use of various programs for the quantitative analysis of an urban or architectural project. Students will learn the use of DepthMap (©UCL) for the visualization and quantification of the points best integrated into the urban fabric, SimWalk (© Savannah Simulations AG) for the simulation of pedestrian movements and Metronamica (© Riks) for simulations of urban development. The data produced will be analysed in Excel using concepts of descriptive statistics explained at lectures. Students will learn both the theoretical and practical use of each program, highlighting in particular the concept of critical and scientific analysis of an urban or architectural project.
