Section 1. The Goethe test.

The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s worldwide cultural institution for promoting the study of the German language abroad and encouraging international cultural exchange. For over 50 years, the Goethe-Institut has fostered the learning of the German language, in the form of courses and development of specialized tests, curricula and teaching materials.

Since January 2002, the Centro d’Esami Goethe-Institut Svizzera Italiana has been the official test centre for German language tests in Canton Ticino.
