Section 1. USI Faculties and Institutes.

Faculties
Currently the Università della Svizzera italiana comprises the following Faculties:

• Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio
• Faculty of Communication Sciences in Lugano
• Faculty of Economics in Lugano
• Faculty of Informatics in Lugano

USI is a young University, constantly evolving in order to pursue excellence in research and education, through collaborations with prestigious institutions, research projects at local, federal and international level, a strong multidisciplinary and international orientation.

Governing Bodies
Each Faculty is governed by a Faculty Council and a Dean (or a Director, in the case of the Academy of Architecture).

Institutes and Laboratories
Research activities at USI are carried out within institutes and laboratories focused on the various research areas of the four Faculties.
