The project “Bacau and Lugano – Teaching Informatics for a Sustainable Society” (acronym BLISS) aims at promoting the partnership between “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacau in Romania (UVAB) and USI, in order to focus on issues and trends regarding all aspects of Informatics: education, research, funding, career development and specific policies.

Last week, a UVAB delegation of professors, researchers and students, visited our Lugano Campus. In the pictures below, former Dean of the Faculty of Informatics prof. Mehdi Jazayeri and prof. Elena Nechita of the Faculty of Sciences of the “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacau.

Thanks to the knowledge and expertise provided by USI, UVAB will improve its capacity to provide graduates with the skills required today on the labour market, and will enhance the visibility of Romanian researchers in the field of European research. Moreover, the collaboration between the two universities will allow researchers to tackle issues on sustainable development, equality of chances, and social inclusion.
