Biography:
Obtained the Bachelor degree at the University of Zurich and continued at the same university with a specialization in Economics (2 years). She wrote the Master thesis at the Socioeconomic Institute under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Peter Zweifel. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the cost saving effects (reduction of moral hazard) of alternative health insurance contracts (Managed Care models and different deductible levels) controlling for risk selection effects. In August 2009 started a PhD in economics at the University of Lugano. She is member of the SSPH+ school (Swiss School of Public Health) and attended the program of International Doctoral Courses in Health Economics and Policy. The doctoral thesis focuses on the cost efficiency of Swiss nursing homes and is based on a stochastic frontier analysis. The supervisor is Prof. Dr. Massimo Filippini. From January to July 2012 had been visiting (50%) at the ETH of Zurich. From August 2012 to October 2012 she had been visitng the Centre of Health Economics (CHE) at the University of York with Prof. Andrew Street. Since 2011 she has been PhD and Post-Doc representative at the University of Lugano.
