Swiss Finance
The Swiss Finance Institute at Università della Svizzera italiana coordinates research and training activities in financial disciplines at the Faculty of Economics, Lugano.
Doctoral School in Healthcare Economics
The school offers advanced courses in health economics and health policies for doctoral students coming from Switzerland and abroad. The Doctoral School in Healthcare Economics is a member of the Swiss Network Health Economics (NHE), in partnership with the main Swiss universities in the healthcare field.
New Media in Education (CROSS-FertilizatIon between formal and informal Learning through Digital technologies)
The CROSS-FertilizatIon betwEen formal and informal Learning through Digital technologies ProDoc program leverages on the experience of the RED-INK doctoral school, a ProDoc program run by the same university consortium (USI, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Universität St.Gallen). CROSS-FIELD will address the subject of informal learning, and how digital technologies can help to promote it, as well as to better integrate and orchestrate it with formal learning in different learning contexts.
Doctoral school on Communication & Health
The doctoral school on Communication & Health is a programme focused on communication and health research involving different research groups (Università della Svizzera italiana, Institute of Communication & Health of the Faculty of Communication Sciences and the Center for Organizational Research of the Faculty of Economics, University of Neuchâtel–Institut de Psychologie du Travail et des Organisations, University of Zurich–Institute of Mass Communication and Media Research, and Virginia Tech, USA, Center for Marketing and Consumer Health), that together seek to integrate communication, psychological, social marketing and organizational research to better understand communication and health issues and to maximize health outcomes.
Doctoral program Argumentation Practices in Context (ARGUPOLIS)
The doctoral program Argumentation Practices in Context (ARGUPOLIS) develops a joint research and training program for PhD students focused on the study of argumentation practices in different social contexts. ARGUPOLIS creates an interdisciplinary network of excellence with regard to argumentation in context, based in Switzerland but strongly connected with the international research community.
The Doctoral School in Management
The primary focus of the doctoral school in Management lies in the area of Organization Theory and the programme - developed by the Institute of Management (IMA) of the Faculty of Economics - is equally divided between theory and methods courses. At the end of about two years of coursework, the students are requested to develop their dissertation, usually composed of three research papers.
Foundations in Mathematics and Informatics for Computer Simulations in Science and Engineering (FoMICS)
The primary goal of the Swiss Graduate program Foundations in Mathematics and Informatics for Computer Simulations in Science and Engineering (FoMICS) is to provide a consistent, prospective and large-scale education and training program for young scientists with profound interest in scientific computing. This program aims to form a unique, reliable basis for the challenging work in the different areas of applications of modern mathematics and informatics.
