Research funding

Research at USI Università della Svizzera italiana is funded by various sources, among which stand out the competitive financing of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF, www.snf.ch) and of the European Union (www.euresearch.ch). 

For 2011, the total funding from external sources equals to more than 16 million SFr., from which a good 14 million come from the SNSF and the European Union.

The spectacular growth of the funding volume in the last years mirrors the consolidation of research at USI.
