Paulo Gonçalves is Associate Professor of Management at USI and Academic Director of the Advanced Master in Humanitarian Logistics and Management. He is also a research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Transportation and Logistics. Previously, he has held appointments at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the University of Miami. He obtained his PhD in Management Science and System Dynamics from the MIT Sloan School of Management and his MSc degree in Technology and Policy from MIT. His work focuses on understanding how managers react to supply chain disruptions and the operational and strategic problems that ensue, evaluating policies that can improve system performance. He has taught a range of courses such as operations management, project management, decision models and system dynamics, at undergraduate, graduate (MBA) and PhD level. He has also taught executive programs in operations management and system dynamics. He has published in the areas of supply chain management, behavioral operations, and nonlinear dynamics.
