Biografia:
Born in 1979 in Zurich, Carole Probst Schilter has studied communication sciences in Lugano (1999-2003, thesis on "Die Rolle des Teamleiters für den Transfer von Erfahrungswissen im Team"). She holds a PhD from the Faculty of Communication sciences at USI, based on a dissertation entitled "Serving Different Masters. The Communication Doctorate in the Knowledge Society". In 2006/2007 she was visiting fellow at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) at the University of Twente, NL and at the Centre de Sociologie des Organisation (CSO) in Paris.
Since spring 2007 she works in the area "Management and Performance of Research and Higher Education Institutions" at CORe, Faculty of Economics, USI. Her main research interests include the academic profession, academic careers, the doctorate, as well as indicators on and evaluation of research and higher education institutions. She is also employed at the "Departement für Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft" at the University of Fribourg.
Currently, she focuses mainly on the CRUS-project "Measuring Research Output in Communication Sciences and Educational Sciences between international benchmarks, cultural differences and social relevance" as well as on the SNF/ESF project "The Academic Profession in Europe: Responses to Societal Challenges (EuroAC)".
