Introduction to R

R is a programming language and an environment for statistical computing widely used in both academic and professional contexts. This course aims at giving an introduction to how to use R to solve simple statistical problems and to programming in general.

This course requires a laptop with R and Rstudio installed; both are open source programs. We are happy to help with the installation upon request.

Andreas Passano

In my studies at USI I have learnt a great deal about R and I have obtained great results in real-world applications. I have been using R for my personal projects and I an offering this module because I enjoy passing on my knowledge. I do quite often private tutoring with R and I have been assistant to Peter Gruber for Informatica II here at USI.
