"+ identità: Settimana della Svizzera italiana" carries on its journey across the Alps and land in Canton Zug from 8 to 12 April 2019. Students from Kantonsschule Menzingen, Mendrisio Cantonal High School and prominent figures from the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland will discuss about Willensnation: what measures would young people take to reduce the distance between regions of different language?

The ninth “Settimana della Svizzera italiana” is supported by the Federal Office of Culture and the Canton of Zug, the Fachmittelschule Zug and participating high schools. Further partners of the initiative are Mendrisio Cantonal High School, and the Department of Education, Culture and Sport of Canton of Ticino. The KS Menzingen has opened the doors to the Swiss Itlaian speaking region sin August 2018 and made room for national cohesion.

The opening ceremony will be held on 8 April 2019 at Kantonsschule Menzingen in the presence of State Councillor Martin Pfister (ZG), President of the Grisons Government Dr. Jon Domenic Parolini and USI General Secretary Albino Zgraggen. Marco Solari, President of Locarno Film Festival, will give the opening remarks and ask the 70 students from Zug and the class 3C of Mendrisio Cantonal high school to present their ideas of Willensnation through videos, radio reports and artworks.
