The competition awards unpublished short stories in Italian, written by authors aged 25 and over, living in Italy or in the Swiss Italian-speaking region. Lorenza Noseda - an honorary member of USI since 2018 - won the award with her anthology entitled "Gente di frontiera" (People living at the borders). The prize was awarded during the _Closing Event of the 31st Premio Chiara held on Sunday, 27 October 2019 at the Sala Napoleonica delle Ville Ponti in Varese.

The prestigious award was awarded by the jury of experts with the following motivation: "For the formal elegance and beautiful writing, in addition to the carefully chosen language that ensures a smooth reading. The stories have their own linearity, thanks to which you can guess a path of style. The final story is particularly successful."

Lorenza Noseda, a graduate in Pedagogy and Social Psychology from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, founded and for twenty years directed the association Amici dell’Accademia d’architettura at USI. In this role she was responsible for the series of "Lezioni Amici dell'Accademia", in which the annual lectio magistralis held by renowned scientists, philosophers, politicians, directors and sociologists were re-proposed. She was awarded the title of "Honorary Member of USI" in 2018 for her constant and precious commitment, also in the fundraising for students scholarships.
