After a semester of intense work, with screenplays, filming and post-production, the webseries #startuppers, produced by RSI in collaboration with USI and featuring four startups active in Ticino, is now available online - in Italian - at the YouTube channel of RSI.

#startuppers suggests a highly original perspective and narrates the adventures of budding entrepreneurs through the eyes of university students. Adopting a fresh filmmaking style with a light narrative approach, the students and startuppers exchange views and discuss challenges, successes, and difficulties – but always in a meaningful way, with high standards of content and the stylistic figure. The stories are genuine and they see the USI Litorale as one of the most recurrent settings, in a very innovative and very unusual television format for a University. The webseries is  produced by Radiotelevisione svizzera (the Swiss public tv and radio broadcaster), from an idea and subject developped by Roberto Manzi, researcher and Business Coach at the USI Start-Up Promotion Centre (CP Start-Up). "With #startuppers we have sought a balance between scientific-technical communication, as occurs typically in our business incubator CP Start-Up, and the more general one, which takes place in a more informal environment like at the USI Litorale - which is why the latter is the chosen location for much of the filming", explains Manzi.

There are four startups in the webseries, all different but united by a common thread, i.e. the principle of circularity, and the sustainable impact on the territory. The original idea of the series takes inspiration also from the USI World Challenges Programme (www.usi.ch/wcp), which is headed by Professor Michael Gibbert. "These startups show us a few entrepreneurial initiatives that were pursued to help solve current problems, such as food waste, biodiversity, sustainability... which are in fact the challenges that the WCP wants to address by promoting knowledge and developing new ways of thinking," comments Prof. Gibbert.
