Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell (Grafton Architects) are the winners of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2021

Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell (Grafton Architects), Full professors at USI's Academy of Architecture, have been awarded with the RIBA Stirling Prize 2021. The distinction is one of the most prestigious architecture awards in Europe and is promoted and assigned annually by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell (Grafton Architects) have been awarded with the RIBA Stirling Prize 2021, one of the most prestigious architecture prizes in Europe, for the design of Town House, the new multifunctional building for higher education at Kingston University in London. According to the jury, “Town House” "expertly captures the spirit of learning and the value of community cohesion". On behalf of this year’s jury, chairman Lord Norman Foster also describes the building as “a theatre for life … [as] it seamlessly brings together student and town communities, creating a progressive model for higher education.”
