Università della Svizzera italiana has won the Swiss Space Office (SSO) call of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SEFRI). It is now part of the consortium led by EPFL, with ETH Zürich, Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW) and the University of Zurich, to develop Space Exchange Switzerland (SXS), a platform to support the further development of space in Switzerland in areas that are not core tasks of SERI/SSO.

The objective of the SXS is to support Swiss organisations and individuals with a recognised national platform for the promotion of space, to amplify the voices of the Swiss space ecosystem at the national and international level, to improve the efficiency of Swiss companies in the field, in particular towards the European Space Agency (ESA) and its technological needs, to encourage the careers of young students and professionals, in particular at ESA, and to support Swiss entities in the development of their knowledge and skills in the use of space data (earth observation).

Within the consortium, USI will, in particular, be in charge of managing career activities, supporting ESA recruiting activities in Switzerland, encouraging the exchange and mobility of students and young professionals and involving young talents to become the future generation of space experts.

Upcoming dates for students, researchers and graduates: a career in space.
