The Airolo Municipality opened the doors of the building that will house USI's House of Sustainability on Sunday, 31 July, as part of the August 1st celebrations.

It was a much appreciated opportunity for the community to return to what, until 2019, was the home of the post office. The building permit for the renovation work was granted in August, construction will begin in the fall, and the new USI antenna in Airolo is scheduled to open in the 2023-24 academic year.

At the open house it was possible to visit the building, look at the renovation project, and get an overview of the goals of the House of Sustainability, whose primary purpose is to offer all USI Bachelor's students an Alpine seminar on sustainable development issues.

At the opening, engaging in dialogue with the audience were Cristina Gianella and Giovanni Pellegri, project coordinators for Università della Svizzera italiana, and the president of the Transition Committee Antoine Turner.
