Support to the association AIESEC Lugano for the events "USI Gala Night" and "International Movie Night"

At its sitting on 26 October, the Student Council decided to support with 1500 CHF two proposals submitted by the student association AIESEC Lugano.
The event USI Gala Night will be held in December and aims to promote university life outside of the classes, cohesion within the University student body, and cross-cultural openness. The event features a red-carpet fashion show, participants’ speeches, music, and dance. The budget is intended for the booking of the venue and the event-related expenses.
The “International Movie Night“ will take place on campus on 16 November and is open to USI and SUPSI students. The International Movie Night aims at being an intercultural exchange event featuring a movie or documentary screening and a quiz game on a specific intercultural topic. The budget is intended for snacks and drinks to be offered at the event and set-up costs.
Details of the Decision
The Student Council supports the project in line with the Corporation's aim to support the initiatives of the Student Associations.
Decision procedure
The Decision was taken by the Student Council unanimously. It will be made available in the form defined in concert with the University when the actual expenses associated with the project are needed.
Deadline for the Student referendum
The deadline to launch a Student Referendum against this Decision is 10 November.
