Last call, Sinergia – interdisciplinary, collaborative and breakthrough

Sinergia promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between two to four research groups whose project involves breakthrough research, distinguished by a high potential for shifting or invalidating paradigms.

Sinergia projects may last from one to four years. A maximum amount of CHF 3.2 million may be requested.
If there are 3 or more applicants, one applicant can be based abroad if their expertise is essential.
After this call of Spring 2023, the SNSF will integrate the Sinergia programme into project funging along with its budget.

Eligibility criteria

  • No less than 2 and no more than 4 applicants;
  • Applicants must have obtained a doctorate at least 4 years before;
  • The consortium must possess experience in project management;
  • One applicant resident in Switzerland must be designated as the legal representative for the SNSF.

Restrictions

  • Only one Sinergia grant per person and per period;
  • Only one Singergia grant per applicant and deadline;
  • SNSF professors may submit a Sinergia applications 2 years after starting their SNFS professorship.
