Abstract:

According to Gallup, an international performance-management consulting company that is probably best known for their opinion polls, employee engagement has been low since years. However, companies have invested a lot in raising employee engagement, as low engagement leads to high economic costs through less contribution, inner resignation, or even more sickness days. How can a company boost engagement, foster collaboration and have their employees working in the most efficient way? What is needed to attract, retain and engage the best people for creative jobs such as software development? How can an organisation best support its people in their day to day work? Avaloq has just changed to a new non-hierarchical model – here are the challenges, improvements and findings.
