  • Special educational needs

Inclusive education envisages teaching models and programmes that are fully accessible to students of all disciplines and levels, regardless of their disability, learning disorder, language and cultural background.

In order to promote inclusion and offer equal opportunities to all students, USI acts in a number of complementary areas, offering tools and measures that can be adapted to different specific needs.

    EXAMINATION GUIDELINES FOR LEARNING NEEDS

Students who have been identified as having specific learning needs due, for example, to disorders such as dyslexia, dysorthographia and dyscalculia, may benefit from support measures during exams.

The support measures provided by USI and the procedure required to apply for such measures are described in the Examination guidelines for students with identified specific learning needs.

The Equal Opportunities Service is available to provide students, in consultation with the Pro-Rector for Education and Students' Experience and with the services concerned, with further information and personalised advice.

    SEN-SI SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

SEN-SI is a cooperation project, carried out in collaboration with SUPSI's Gender and Diversity Service, which aims to develop, implement and validate a new series of remedial and/or additional measures to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), introducing innovative teaching methods and technologies open to diversity in Bachelor and Master programmes, to ensure a high quality university education and a more inclusive environment for the entire student community.

    Running period: 2021-2022.

Detailed information on the project can be found at the following link.

  • Psycho-physical well-being

In order to care for the psycho-physical well-being of its staff, USI provides students, and members of the intermediate, academic, professorial and administrative staff with a space for listening and individual support.
