Sinergia promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between two to four applicants whose project involves breakthrough research.
This funding scheme is aimed at experienced researchers. All applicants must be employed with a work-time percentage of at least 50% for the duration of the project. The consortium must have adequate experience in managing research projects. Other researchers may be involved as project partners.
At least 2 and at the most 4 applicants may submit an application for a Sinergia grant. The applicants requesting a Sinergia can be based at 2 or more different higher education institutions in Switzerland that are eligible for funding. If there are 3 or more applicants, and their expertise is essential, one applicant can be based abroad.
The applicants requesting a Sinergia grant constitute a Sinergia consortium.
Funding is granted for 1 to 4 years with a budget between CHF 50’000 and CHF 3.2 million.
