In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Simone Frattini, Area Manager Middle East & Emerging Market at Ralph Lauren in Milan. USI Degree: Master in Management, 2015.

How did you start your career?

I start working in Fendi America in New York immediately after my graduation. 6-months internship in the retail department.

Why did you choose a career in Ralph Lauren?

Because I love fashion and US companies mentality; Ralph Lauren represents the right blend.

What is your current role/duties?

I am in charge of POLO Menswear with the objective to meet company revenue targets across my area. I manage the business to develop the best sales strategies.

In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career in Ralph Lauren?

Flexibility, be proactive, curiosity, passion for fashion and resolute.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

A clear overview of economic topics, studying them with a managerial point of view. The change to make lot of case studies and work in team really help students giving them the idea of team working.

What competences and/or skills acquired in your USI Study Program have been useful/are useful to your professional career?

Forma mentis in terms of organization, ability to prioritize, adaptability, flexibility and proactivity.

What is your advice to USI students entering the job market?

To be curious and proactive, willing to embrace new opportunity your job can offer you every day.
