European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder Open
Servizio ricerca e trasferimento del sapere
Submission deadline: 19 May, 201 (to be confirmed)
In Horizon Europe, the EIC Pathfinder Open is the direct successor of the former programme “Future Emerging Technologies – FET”. Although with a different name, its spirit remains unchanged: Pathfinder Open supports breakthrough, high-risk/high-gain technologies and innovations, financing projects that are ambitious, visionary, aiming for a radical technological change and with a potential of a disruptive impact.
The support is foreseen for early-stage (basic research) bottom-up projects (i.e. without any predefined thematic priorities and open to any field of science and technology).
Interdisciplinary collaborative consortium of at least 3 legal entities, established in a different Member State or Associated Country and with at least one of them established in a Member State*. The involvement of SMEs and/or promising start-ups is highly encouraged.
For the purposes of eligibility to this scheme, Switzerland will be treated as an entity established in an Associated Country, provided that the Horizon Europe association agreement, currently under negotiation, applies at the time of signature of the approved project’s grant agreement.
Projects can request an EU contribution of up to EUR 3 million.
Proposals are evaluated towards the following criteria:
- Long-term vision,
- Science-towards-technology breakthrough,
- Concrete and plausible objectives
- Innovation potential
- Quality of the consortium
