Under the project funding scheme, qualified researchers define their research themes and objectives themselves and conduct their project under their own responsibility.
Funding
The researchers can apply for funding of research costs and staff salaries, as well as of scientific cooperation, networking and communication; however, they may not apply for their own salaries.
Duration
The funding period ranges from one to four years, with grants starting at CHF 50'000 (minimum amount).
Within the scope of project funding, applicants may hold only one grant during the same funding period. However, the SNSF may award a second grant if the second project has a different thematic and makes an important contribution.
