HFSP fellowship program

The HFSP fellowship program provides funding for interdisciplinary, high-risk research projects in the life sciences.
HFSP offers two types of postdoctoral fellowships, for 3 years ,coverin a living allowance and a research and travel allowance.
There are two types of fellowships available: Long-Term Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers in the life sciences, and Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers from non-biological disciplines who are interested in exploring the life sciences.
Applications for the 2024 HFSP fellowships are currently open, and the deadline for submitting a Letter of Intent is April 15, 2023. Applicants will be asked to submit a Letter of Intent, which will be reviewed by a committee. Successful applicants will be invited to submit a Full Proposal.

Eligibility criteria

• Postdoctoral fellowships are available for researchers who have a PhD or equivalent degree in basic research and have published at least one lead author publication in a recognized OA preprint repository, accepted for publication, in press, or already published by a peer-reviewed journal.
• Applicants must propose to work in a country different from where they did their previous PhD work or first postdoctoral studies
• Eligible candidates must be a national from one of the HFSP member countries or apply to work only in a research institution in one of the member countries if they are not a member country's national.
