Paulo Gonçalves, Full Professor at USI Faculty of Economics, has won a prestigious award.

His article "Bodies of knowledge for research in behavioral operations", published in 2011, was voted by the members of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) as one of the ten best papers included in the last thirty years in the monthly journal of the same name.

The article underscores the importance of incorporating behavioral science into operations management research to develop models that better account for human behaviors like biases and group dynamics. The novel perspective contrasted with traditional OM models, which assumed rational decision-making, leading to more accurate and realistic models.

Joining Prof. Gonçalves in writing the paper, available at this link, were researchers Elliot Bendoly, Rachel Croson, and Ken Schultz.
