Introduction to Excel for data analysis

We wish to offer a course to provide students with basic working knowledge for using Excel in everyday data analysis. We plan to cover some of the first steps for working with spreadsheets and their use in the process of analyzing data. We include plenty of examples of real world problems which students might face in their first jobs, followed by step-by-step instructions that can be applied and practiced on a live spreadsheet.

By providing this course, we hope to equip students with experience in cleansing and wrangling data using functions and then analyzing data using techniques like filtering, sorting and creating pivot tables. This course is suitable for those aspiring to take up data analysis or data science as a profession, as well as those who just want to use Excel for data analysis in their own domains

This course requires a laptop with Excel installed. Excel is free to use for USI students. We are happy to help with the installation upon request.

The Social media environment is a world that plays an important role in developing businesses and that day by day is increasing exponentially. Canva is a multifunctional platform that can be used for many different aims. I use Canva daily for creating Instagram contents for my personal Instagram page (@GE_tradevesting) and I think that is a very powerful platform accessible by everyone.

Excel is still the primary software businesses use across various industries. We have experience from the logistics, marketing and private equity sectors where we have used Excel extensively to varying degrees of difficulty. We want to equip our colleagues with the tools required to solve common everyday problems they may encounter in their jobs.
