Administration and services

USI administration comprises of different services and it is under the Rectorate responsibility, and through the Rectorate, under the University Council. Affiliated institutes and associated institutes are independent from an administrative point of view.

USI's service organisational chart divides services into three types:

• the operational and administrative services, which report to the Director of Operations;
• the transversal services, which, reporting straight to the Rectorate and Director of Operations, provide support to the entire organisation;
• the institutional services, reporting directly to the Rectorate.

Areas

The operational and administrative services are grouped into seven areas according to their respective activities. Each area has its own head, a reference point for the various service managers:

Area managers, together with Faculty coordinators, assist the Director of Operations in the context of the Extended Management Board.

Functional managers

Some departments are subject to the hierarchical responsibility of the Director of Operations and the functional responsibility of the Rector or Pro-Rectors.
