Personal knowledge management – building a “second brain”

The module introduces students to knowledge management as an essential tool in a world of orverflowing information. Organizing and querying data of very diverse kind, from journal articles to podcasts, is pivotal within and outside academia. After a briefing on how humans actually learn, concrete methods for learning and knowledge management will be introduced, including the 'Getting Things Done' methodology and Zettelkasten. These methods will be implemented with free apps: Notion, Obsidian and Readwise.

No prerequisites are needed. The module includes a short introduction to the CSS and Markdown languages, plus some useful plug-ins.

I have spent the last two years researching methods and algorithms to improve productivity, both on a psychological and technological level, experimenting with the latest apps.I am also the president of a recently founded student association (Mastermind), that focuses on this topic.
