Gephi: A Tool for Network Visualization

Gephi is a useful tool for visualizing networks, such as supply chains, trade or friendships. It is an open source and rather easy to use, with no programming skills required. Yet it is highly versatile and customizable. It can be used for a variety of projects, from exploratory data analysis to social network and/or biological network analysis. In this module, I will give a hands-on introduction to Gephi, using interesting sample data sets.

During my exchange semester in Germany I had the opportunity to take two classes in regards to the use of Gephi and I worked on several projects, for example an analysis that connects the main film festivals to the cinemas in Berlin. I have grown to like and use Gephi a lot and I want to share this skill with my colleagues.
