101 diplomas awarded at the graduation day at the Faculty of Informatics

On Tuesday, 14 December, the USI Faculty of Informatics awarded 101 students of 30 different nationalities with Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees during a ceremony held, for the first time, in the Aula Polivalente of the Lugano East Campus, where the Faculty is based.

The ceremony opened by the Rector of USI, Boas Erez, followed by an introductory speech given by the new Faculty Dean Prof. Marc Langheinrich, and a keynote speech by Piersandro Lombardi of DXT Commodities (Duferco Group).

A total of 101 degrees in Informatics were awarded to the new graduates, of which 30 Bachelor's, 53 Master's and 18 PhDs. The ceremony included  the speeches of the representatives of the respective study programmes and the testimony of Dr. Parisa Jalili Marandi, Director Data Engineering at BlackRock in London, who obtained her PhD in Informatics at USI in 2014.

Closing remarks were given the Dean Prof. Marc Langheinrich.
