Registration open for the first San Giorgio relay

The first mountain run/walk relay race organised by the Sport Service will be held on Saturday, 19 November (in case of bad weather conditions on Sunday, 20 November). Registration is open until 16 November 2022 at the Sport Service office ( East Campus Lugano - Sector D).
The itinerary follows the slopes of Mount San Giorgio with departure and arrival in Meride. The changeover zone will be at Funivia del Serpiano area. The route is mainly on a trail with some stretches on dirt roads. Approximately 450 meters of elevation gain should be expected for each of the two legs of the relay, with about 2 hours for those who proceed by walking and about 1.5 hour for those who alternate running and walking. At the end of the race, roasted chestnuts will be offered to all participants at the Vignetta bar at the Mendrisio Campus.
