The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Grand Challenges (GC) Partners have jointly discussed the need for an equitable and responsible approach to the use of AI and specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) in LMICs.
Global partners may be included. However, priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate at least 80% of the funding is going to LMIC institutions and where the investigator is a part of an LMIC institution.
Eligibility
Projects need to achieve one of the following objectives:
- accelerate the pathway from evidence to policy; from policy to implementation;
- improve the quality of resource allocation and front line workers.
Funding and duration
Project has to be executed over a 3-month period. The grant is up to 100.000 USD for each project.
The total budget allocated for this Grand Challenge request for proposals is up to 3 milion USD.
