The call for the "Fulbright U.S. Specialist program" is now open. The programme is designed for faculty members and allows them to invite an expert from the United States to their university for 2 to 6 weeks. The visiting specialist can conduct workshops and seminars, develop academic or training programmes, give lectures, conduct evaluations, and establish long-term academic relationships and collaborations.
The "Fulbright U.S. Specialist program", part of the broader "Fulbright program", was established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The programme is a sectoral initiative in which foreign host institutions design and define projects of interest within an eligible discipline that is a priority for their respective organisations. These projects are then paired with a highly qualified academic or professional from the United States, who shares their expertise and helps strengthen ties between the U.S. and foreign host institutions.
The programme typically operates on a cost-sharing basis. However, if the organisers receive the various proposals by 30 September, the hosting institution will not incur a fee and will be fully supported by the "Fulbright Program".
