The video recordings of the fourth Cultura e Salute university course, promoted by the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in collaboration with the Culture Division of the City of Lugano and IBSA Foundation for scientific research, are now available online. The lecture series "Visual Arts and Health", which concluded recently, was dedicated to exploring the connection between visual arts, health, and wellbeing.

The series, which took place over seven encounters, saw the participation of numerous experts from USI's academic body and beyond. The topics addressed were many and diverse: the use of visual thinking strategies in medicine (first evening: Visual thinking strategies in medicine), the neuronal mechanisms involved in an aesthetic experience (second evening: How art changes our brain), the relationship between museums and psychophysical wellbeing (third evening: Do museums really make us feel better? ), art therapy (fourth evening: Art therapy and psychotherapy: models and practices and fifth evening: Effectiveness of art therapy in medicine: the evidenc speaks for itself), the presence of art in hospitals (sixth evening: Art in hospitals: past and present) and the therapeutic value of cinema (seventh evening: How cinema becomes therapy).

Recordings of the evenings are available at the following link on the IBSA Foundation for scientific research website.
