Fulbright scholarships for study and research in the United States

The Fulbright programme offers scholarships for Swiss students, researchers and professors interested in studying, conducting research or teaching in the United States of America. Applications for 2026/2027 are open until 5 August 2025.
The American Embassy in Bern has organised two online information sessions to raise awareness of this opportunity.
- Monday, 28 April, from 4:30 to 5:15 pm – for students and researchers in training
- Tuesday, 29 April, from 4:30 to 5:15 pm – for professors and scholars
The programme is divided into two main programmes:
- Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programme: for university professors and professionals who wish to carry out post-doctoral research and/or teach in the USA.
- Fulbright Foreign Student Programme: for students with a bachelor's degree interested in a master's degree, a doctorate or academic studies not leading to a degree.
