Restorative Justice Training Day
Institutional Communication Service
22 April 2025
Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), in collaboration with SUPSI and SUFFP, invites the public to the first Training Day on Restorative Justice, which will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 08:30 to 17:30, at the SUFFP Auditorium, Via Besso 84, Lugano.
This event marks the beginning of a shared journey aimed at promoting and spreading a new culture of dialogue, responsibility, and reparation. Restorative justice offers a transformative perspective in legal and social contexts, placing people, relationships, and the needs arising from conflict at the center.
During the event, experts in the field such as Claudia Mazzucato (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) and Clara Rigoni (University of Lausanne) will guide participants through theoretical reflections, practical experiences, and concrete tools. The afternoon will feature interactive sessions, including the screening of a documentary, restorative justice circles facilitated by the RJustice Group, and a participatory activity using a digital wall.
The event is also part of a broader scientific research context carried out within USI, in particular thanks to the contribution of the Law Institute (IDUSI), with Prof. Annamaria Astrologo, and the Institute of Argumentation, Linguistics and Semiotics (IALS), with Prof. Sara Greco, both engaged in studying the legal and communicative foundations of restorative justice.
The event is open to the public upon registration, at a cost of CHF 150.–, and is recognized as a continuing education course for FSM-certified mediators.
