Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) enthusiastically took part in Pasqua in città, the springtime event organised by the City of Lugano, which enlivened the city centre from 18 to 21 April with markets, music, games, and activities for both young and old.
Within this vibrant setting, USI seized the opportunity to promote UniVerso, the event dedicated to exploring and encouraging dialogue between science and society, which will take place on 10 May at the Lugano West Campus.
One of the highlights was the brand-new Maze of Knowledge, set up in Piazza Manzoni in collaboration with the City’s Events and Congresses Department. It served as the final stop of the hugely popular treasure hunt along the lakeside and through Parco Ciani – an adventure that thrilled over 3,500 children. The maze combined fun and learning with illustrated panels inspired by UniVerso. One of the games, which required helping the sun find its way home, was key to claiming the final prize.
At the end of the route, each young participant received a sweet chocolate treat, coloured pencils, and an activity sheet bearing the UniVerso branding.
In addition to the maze, USI was also present with a stand in Piazza Dante on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 April. There, children and families had the chance to spin a prize wheel and win goodies such as mini jenga, memory games, mini mazes, fortune cookies, UniVerso activity sheets with coloured pencils and, as a special prize, a voucher for L’Ideatorio.
For those who missed it, the Maze of Knowledge will remain open to visitors from 25 to 27 April during the Bike Emotions event, once again in Piazza Manzoni. The installation is open to all, including those who didn’t take part in the treasure hunt.
Despite the not-always-cooperative weather, the 2025 edition of Pasqua in Città ended on a high note, attracting a good turnout and bringing a festive atmosphere to Lugano with music performances and a host of activities that added value to the city centre.
