USI Transfer addresses the issue of cyber security and data protection by bringing together academic experts and business professionals from the sector at the Innovation Roundtable on Cyber Security.

Through the "Innovation Roundtable" event series, USI Transfer, the technology transfer service of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), creates an opportunity for dialogue and discussion between universities and the industry on topics of strategic importance, promoting new synergies and innovative projects.

During the encounter on 21 May, the experts involved discussed emerging challenges in cyber security and data protection. They emphasised that the increasing digitalisation of our lives exposes sensitive data to greater risks. This situation underscores the urgent need for improved information and awareness in this field.

Among the key players in this edition were professors and researchers from the Faculty of Informatics (Prof. Patrick Thomas Eugster, Dr Alberto Ferrante, Prof. Marc Langheinrich and Prof. Stefan Wolf) together with company representatives from the sector (Carlo Luciano - GRC, ISMS/ISO Senior Manager, Acer Europe SA; Matteo Dal Grande - PKI Engineer, now Schweiz AG; Carlos Garcia - Deputy CIO, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC); Andrea Ghirardini - CIO, Swiss Innovative Arts and Technologies Institute)

Carlo Luciano from Acer Group commented, "It was a pleasure to participate in the Innovation Roundtable on Cyber Security at Università della Svizzera italiana, where I represented my company. The encounter was highly stimulating, and I truly valued the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and innovators. I firmly believe gatherings like this are essential for fostering collaboration between the academic and business communities."

Carlos Garcia di EOC ha aggiunto” È stato un piacere incontrare i professori dell'USI e poter discutere apertamente e in modo informale di un tema così importante / It was a pleasure to meet USI professors and to be able to openly discuss such an important topic in an informal way”
