Research that concerns us: USI opens a window on sustainability during the LongLake Festival
Institutional Communication Service
6 June 2025
From 13 to 19 July, USI and SUPSI will participate in the LongLake Festival by offering travelling and interactive workshops, lectures, and activities for children, all focused on sustainability.
The initiative builds on last year's series of encounters at the USI-SUPSI East Campus in Lugano, BiodiverCittà, and takes up its essence and objectives: to bring together citizens and anyone interested in some of the research topics addressed by the researchers of the two universities. This year, however, research will not be confined to laboratories, but will also be narrated in parks, squares and beyond, taking advantage of the evocative setting offered by the LongLake Festival.
Under the umbrella of the initiative La ricerca che ci riguarda (Research that concerns us), USI and SUPSI are proposing four encounters dedicated to sustainability, interpreted in environmental, social, economic and cultural terms. Each meeting is designed to stimulate curiosity, awareness and dialogue.
Below are the four scheduled appointments:
- Facade sustainability: greenwashing and its many masks
- Sunday, 13 July, 6 pm, Darsena (Ciani Park)
- My summer in the (urban heat) islands
- Tuesday, 15 July 2025, 14:00, Darsena (Ciani Park)
- Urban Pixels
- Wednesday, 16 to Friday 18 July, Studio Foce
- An explosion of sprouts!
- Saturday 19 July, 10:00 a.m., Fleur Stage (Ciani Park)
Everyone is invited to participate in order to enjoy experiences that stimulate curiosity, reflection and discovery on topics that concern us closely.
