Entry into force of the Read&Publish agreement with Wiley

After a no-deal phase at the beginning of 2025, the new publishing agreement with the scientific publisher Wiley finally comes into force at USI and at the other Swiss universities for the period 2025-2027. The new agreement, signed by swissuniversities with Wiley on the 23rd of June 2025, now includes Wiley's Gold OA journals, allowing researchers from Swiss higher education institutions to publish in Open Access across Wiley's entire portfolio in the future.

This type of agreement is implemented by the USI Libraries; it combines reading access to the publisher's journals with the possibility of publishing free of charge in Open Access.

This is a further important addition to the realisation of the Swiss National Open Access Strategy.

Reading part

The agreement guarantees to all USI members full reading access to the journal portfolio in the Wiley Online Library.

Publish part

In addition, USI researchers have the opportunity to publish in OA at no additional cost in Wiley hybrid and gold journals. The entire list of included journals is available on the following page.

Free OA publication is possible provided that a researcher is affiliated to USI and simultaneously is the corresponding author of the article.

USI affiliation must also be correctly indicated to the publisher during the publication process. We recommend using your institutional e-mail address @usi.ch for article submission.

We take this opportunity to remind you that USI, in addition to concluding agreements with individual publishers, financially supports the publication of Gold OA articles by its researchers, where they are not already supported within a third party funded project.
