23 July 2025
For the eighth time, the Swiss Study Foundation, in cooperation with the Bärbel and Paul Geissbühler Foundation, is awarding the Bärbel and Paul Geissbühler scholarships to students who have distinguished themselves in STEM disciplines (including medical sciences). For Università della Svizzera italiana, Luzia Bühlmann, a Master of Medicine student at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, was awarded the prize.
These scholarships from the Swiss Study Foundation, supported by the Bärbel and Paul Geissbühler Foundation since 2018, are awarded to students with outstanding academic achievements in STEM disciplines. The recipients show promise for a bright future but lack sufficient financial means to finance their studies after exhausting all other funding options.

- Basil Burri, from Langenthal (BE), Master of Science in Microbiology, University of Zurich
- Luzia Bühlmann, from Romanshorn (TG), Master of Medicine, Università della Svizzera italiana
- Nicola Irmiger, from Chur (GR), Master's degree in electrical engineering and information technology, ETH Zurich
- Maud Steinbach, from Maur (ZH), Master of Medicine, University of Lausanne
