Maaike Booi appointed as the new Faculty Manager of the Academy of Architecture

On 18 August 2025, Maaike Booi joined the Academy of Architecture as Faculty Manager. Her role encompasses responsibilities in the financial management and operational coordination of the faculty.

After graduating with a degree in Business Administration from The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, Maaike Booi obtained a Master's degree in Management Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. She began her career in the telecommunications sector as a product and project manager. Later, she relocated to Tuscany, where she continued her career in commerce and industry, working with an international clientele.

Since 2011, she has been living and working in Ticino, where she returned to the technology sector, specialising in the analysis and digital transformation of business processes. She has collaborated with companies and public institutions in Southern Switzerland, most recently serving as General Manager of Palo Alto SA for the past three years. Her experience ranges from finance and business consulting to technology and team management.

In her new role as Faculty Manager, Maaike Booi will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from financial management to operational coordination. As a member of the extended management team, she will also play an active role in ensuring the smooth operation and strategic development of the Academy.

With this addition, USI completes its team of Faculty Managers, key figures introduced to optimise support for the Faculties, their educational programmes and the relevant Institutes, promoting more effective and coordinated management.
