Il mondo in USI: a new initiative to promote multiculturalism and inclusion

USI launches the new edition of "Il mondo in USI", a series of events organised by the International Relations and Study Abroad Service to promote cultural diversity and strengthen the intercultural skills of the university community.

Università della Svizzera italiana is an international institution that welcomes individuals from over 100 countries, fostering the exchange of ideas and celebrating diversity. Through its initiative "Il mondo in USI", the International Relations Service is taking a concrete step towards implementing the Internationalisation at Home (I@Home) project, which aims to enhance awareness of the significance of an intercultural perspective, enrich campus life, and promote the inclusion of an international community.

The programme comprises a lineup of events that explore the themes of integration and diversity through visual, theoretical, and practical approaches. Some initiatives aim to introduce the international public to Swiss culture, while others encourage critical reflection on global challenges. Additionally, some initiatives provide opportunities for openness to the outside world. Notably, the exhibition Migration and the screening of the film "Khartoum" invite visitors to consider issues such as colonial history, global conflicts, identity, democracy, and freedom of expression. This is done in collaboration with prominent organisations like IOM Switzerland, the Customs Museum, and the Lugano Human Rights Film Festival.
