USI hosted the Investment Summit 2025, a day focused on discussions and networking about Switzerland's future as an attractive hub for foreign direct investment. The encounter brought together representatives from academia, institutions and business to discuss how our country can thrive in an increasingly complex global economy.

The day was characterised by a lively atmosphere of interactive exchange, featuring participants from the global network of Swiss Business Hubs, cantonal and regional investment promotion agencies, as well as numerous Swiss partners. The afternoon workshops were particularly important, as they provided an opportunity for participants to share experiences, ideas, and concrete proposals that would benefit the entire Team Switzerland.

Key speakers included Simone Wyss Fedele (Switzerland Global Enterprise, S-GE), Christian Vitta (State Council of the Canton of Ticino), Luca Maria Gambardella (Pro-Rector for Innovation and Corporate Relations, USI), Patrik Wermelinger (S-GE), Beata Javorcik (EBRD), Sheila Beladinejad (European AI Alliance Member, European Commission), Jacopo Dettoni (fDi Intelligence), Stone Shih (Acer EMEA) and Liv Minder (S-GE).

Sophie Cerny (Switzerland Innovation), Andrea Emilio Rizzoli (IDSIA USI-SUPSI), Mathias Lischer (Lucerne Business), Angela Honegger (Swissnex in India), together with several representatives from S-GE and the Swiss Business Hubs in the United States and India, also actively contributed to the workshops.

The Investment Summit 2025 confirmed the importance of creating synergies between universities, institutions and businesses to strengthen Switzerland's status as a global hub for innovation and investment.
