Eric Nowak, full professor at the Faculty of Economics at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), has recently been named as a member of two important international bodies involved in setting climate standards and policies.

From 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2028, Prof. Nowak will be part of the Methodology Expert Group for Forestry & Blue Carbon (MEG-FOR) at the Gold Standard Foundation based in Geneva. The group, made up of independent experts and market specialists, offers methodological advice to the organisation's Technical Advisory Committee. Their work contributes to the development and updating of methodologies in the fields of forestry and blue carbon.

At the same time, Prof. Nowak has been included in the roster of "Article 6.4 Mechanism Experts for Climate Policy" of the Supervisory Body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The selected experts contribute to the implementation of the mechanism outlined in Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement, which aims to promote emission reduction projects and strengthen international cooperation on climate policies.

These recognitions are in addition to Prof. Nowak's existing role as Advisory Group Member at the Verra Verified Carbon Standard, further consolidating his scientific and professional contribution to global climate change mitigation strategies.
