Passing the Torch: A Change in Leadership for the Research, Transfer and Ecosystem Development Area

Università della Svizzera italiana announces a change in leadership in the Research, Transfer and Ecosystem Development Area.

After several years leading the Area, Francesco Lurati has decided to step down from his position. USI would like to express its sincere gratitude for his commitment, professionalism, and significant contributions to developing services focused on research, knowledge transfer, and innovation.

The position will now be assumed by Andrea Foglia, who will leverage his experience and knowledge of USI to ensure continuity and foster new growth opportunities, benefiting both the academic community and local partners.

Andrea Foglia emphasised his desire to strengthen the link between innovation, research and continuing education, with an open and international perspective: "I am delighted to be able to contribute to consolidating and further developing the Area's activities, strengthening the link between innovation, research and continuing education while maintaining a close relationship with the local community and an international perspective. I would like to thank USI for their trust and express my gratitude to all my colleagues for their collaboration and shared commitment to promoting sustainable and open growth within our community and its ecosystem."
