Istituto Svizzero - Applications now open for 2026/2027 residencies

Istituto Svizzero offers residency programmes in Rome, Milan, and Palermo for emerging artists and researchers who wish to contribute to the future of art, science, and innovation.

Through a transdisciplinary programme of events, study trips, workshops and discussions, the residencies promote professional growth and encourage networking and collaboration between the academic and artistic communities in Switzerland and Italy.

The call for applications is open to Swiss citizens residing in Switzerland or individuals with strong ties to the Swiss academic or artistic scene.

The Roma Calling programme offers ten-month residencies (September–July) for artists and researchers in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, as well as two short five-month residencies for research projects closely linked to the city of Rome.

To apply, candidates must submit a personal project that requires or benefits from a stay at one of the Institute's locations and that fits into a context of interdisciplinary collaboration.
