Università della Svizzera italiana joins the national day of mourning declared by the Federal Council in memory of the victims of the Crans-Montana disaster. On Friday, 9 January, at 2 pm, the University community will observe a minute of silence in solidarity and to express their grief over this tragic event.
On Friday morning, the leaders of the University Chaplaincy, a multi-faith spiritual support service, will place a poster with a lit candle and some pens at the entrance to the main USI building, where the flag has been flying at half-mast since 2 January. The Chaplaincy's initiative seeks to offer the academic community a symbolic space to express their closeness and solidarity with the victims, the injured, and their loved ones.
For those who need it, the USI in ascolto in service is available to the student community and the academic and administrative staff of USI.
