USI's New Rectorate Team

Starting 1 February 2026, the new Rectorate team at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) will take office, coordinated by Interim Rector Gabriele Balbi.

The new Rectorate brings together established expertise, deep institutional knowledge, and an interdisciplinary profile that reflects the diversity of USI's Faculties. The team is dedicated to fostering dialogue with the local region, the international community, and the broader innovation and research ecosystem.

The team consists of:

  • Antonio Carzaniga, Pro-Rector for Innovation and Corporate Relations
  • Fabio Crestani, Pro-Rector for Internationalisation
  • Sonja Hildebrand, Pro-Rector for Sustainable Transformation and Equal Opportunities
  • Raphaël Parchet, Pro-Rector for Research
  • Milan Savic, Interim Director of Operations
  • Giovanni Zavaritt, Secretary General

Additionally, Interim Rector Gabriele Balbi will continue to oversee the Pro-Rectorate for Education and Students' Experience directly.
